Painted Eggs Museum Lucia Condrea, Moldovița, Bucovina

The "Lucia Condrea Egg Museum" is a unique institution in the world that houses an impressive collection of over 30,000 eggs decorated over more than 50 years of work by the artist Lucia Condrea. Approximately half of this collection is displayed in 106 showcases, making it the world's largest museum of author-decorated eggs. The rest of the exhibits are found in museums, royal houses, and private collections in around 110 countries.

The museum was initially located in the artist's own home starting in 1993, and in the summer of 2007, it was officially inaugurated under her name. This museum stands out for the exceptional artistic value of its original exhibits and represents an invaluable artistic legacy intended for future generations. The museum's collection is divided into three sections: unique works by Lucia Condrea, a collection of very old decorated eggs gathered from villages inhabited by the Hutsul ethnic group (Moldovița, Ciumârna, Breaza, Izvoarele Sucevei, Ulma, Brodina, Moldova Sulița), and an international collection consisting of exhibits received from creators in 56 countries recognized for their tradition in the art of decorated eggs. Through this museum, Lucia Condrea, an internationally acclaimed visual artist, has managed to preserve an invaluable treasure of Hutsul folklore traditions, with exhibits dating back to 1883.

This is a must-visit next spring! (getting into the Easter spirit)
